Today marks 6 months that my boyfriend and I have been together. Perhaps that doesn't seem like such a long time to some people, but for me it has been about two years since I reached that point in a relationship. The same for him. It feels like we have been been together for much longer.
I forget if I've explained our background or not, but we worked together 10 years ago. I was married to someone else and he was engaged to someone else. I never would have imagined that we would have ended up together, but here we are. I couldn't be happier.
We rarely go out for dinner, but we usually do to celebrate each month together. This month I really wanted to go to Red Lobster, since it's Crab Fest. I was craving seafood. We are both stuffed after the dinner that we had. Like a lot of restaurants, there are some options, but modifications are necessary. He didn't get the rice with his meal, I didn't have the mashed potatoes and we asked them to take away the biscuits when they brought them. (Polietly, of course.)
I actually brought food home! I can't wait for leftovers tomorrow! Of course, we asked for extra butter, which we drenched our broccoli in! To prepare for this, we had our breakfast, but then I didn't eat much else. I had some macadamia nuts and an avocado. I knew that dinner would be protein heavy, so I wanted to load up on fat. It would help me not be as hungry getting toward dinner.
We both knew that we would go over our macros today, but we aren't always concerned about that. Our date isn't about hitting perfect macros. It's about celebrating each other. I think we had a fantastic time. Both of us were ready for dinner by the time we got to the restaurant. Now it's time for some Shark Week and bed.
Keep calm and keto on.
