So today was an uneventful day for the most part. Ate my keto, hit most of my macros. Tomorrow I have a shorter shift at night, so I get to sleep in tomorrow. I am really looking forward to that.
Tonight, we bought ingredients for a fathead pizza. Friends of ours, who are a couple, are interested in keto. We told them we'd bring over a keto meal to make. We wanted to be there to answer any questions and showcase a delicious meal. Who doesn't love pizza?!
To our surprise, our host and hostess had done their very best to provide keto food. Now, I know some people reading thing are stronger and maybe wouldn't have tried things. To us, however, it was clear that they had put time and effort and thought into the hors d'oeuvres.
They had veggies with a creamy dipping sauce laid out, mostly keto. (Carrots and tomatoes in moderation of course). They had made meatballs with a sauce. (Turns out the sauce had some flour in it). There was no way I was going to offend my host and hostess for their generosity. I highly doubt the slight "cheat" we did is going to affect us in a large way.
I'm feeling a bit of headache and my throat is a little sore, but to be honest I've only had one day off in the last 34, so my guess would be it's mostly from that. We never really got around to making the pizza, but we did snack on the pepperoni.
They were curious about snacks. I think everyone really is. I told them the best ones and suggested the cheese crisps recipe from 2 Keto Dudes paired with some salami or pepperoni. They seemed perfectly happy with this idea. They have both tried a lot of different things and like with all of us, they've succeeded and then failed. This is not a negative statement. It shows they care and are interested. It's what brought them to keto.
I believe they will go far. We talked about the carb flu and ways to combat it. Told them about our smart scale. We made clear that any questions they can text us or let us know. They had seemed to do some research beforehadn and wanted an in person opinion from people who had done it.
So, I think I've figured out part of my hunger problem. I wake up at around 6:45am most mornings and by 7:30am it's breakfast time. My schedule is 9am-6pm. My scheduled lunch is 2pm. Yes, I understand many people have success with intermittent fasting, but I'm not sure I'm one of those people. So once noon rolls around, I'm pretty hungry. I think it may all be real hunger. I'm hoping I can slowly train myself not to eat so many snacks. It's time to crash.
